Introduction...

The Jagernauts team consists of 4 motivated individuals who really had no idea what they had signed up for. The team consists of Bridget Reeves, Paul Stoddart, Brett Telfer and Andre Russell. When asked what inspired them to take part in such a huge and challenging event, they all point the finger at each other. Bridget says, “Brett talked me into it. He said it would do wonders for my butt whilst raising money for a good charity.”

The Jagernauts’ support crew consists of John Eyles and 2 of his daughters, Bridget’s man Joe and Andre’s friend Rachel. The crew will be travelling in style in a 6-berth Maui campervan and as well as rubbing sore feet and preparing meals for the team, they will be responsible for providing interested followers with regular updates via a range of Web2.0 technologies.

When asked what will set this team apart from the rest, Brett Telfer says “We are looking to carry GPS locators and present our location on Google Earth, blogging at each stop, trying to setup some monitoring clothing for remote diagnostics as we travel around the course to monitor heart-rate, temperature etc. Apart from that, we are just far better looking than the other teams.”

The foursome have been walking an average of 100kms a week over the past month and will be completing 2 more big walks before tapering down in preparation for the event beginning on April 6. “I went to be last night with a full body ache,” says Bridget, “I don’t seem to be shrinking like the other members of the team. It might be something to do with the bags of lilies I have to eat to power my way around the streets of Auckland.”

Making it to the end will be a challenge for this quartet. Making it to work the next day will be even harder.
